Fetch Class

The American Kennel Club has launched a program called AKC Fetch for dog owners to be able to earn titles according to their dog’s ability to retrieve. It’s a fun, multi-level program, that showcases a dog’s ability to bring back a ball or a bumper. All breeds, including All-Americans (Canine Partners) can participate.

Prerequisites

  • Dogs must be Behaviorally Healthy and not have aggression issues with other dogs.
  • Dog must have passed the Canine Good Citizen test (or equivalent).
  • Dogs must be at least 6 months of age at the start of class.
  • All dogs must have Rabies and DHPP vaccinations or titers. Proof of vaccinations or titers must be brought to first class.  Dogs without proof of vaccinations or titers will not be able to participate. 
  • No shock collars, e-collars, prong collars or choke chains allowed in class.
  • Pre-registration with pre-payment is required.

Tuition: $130.00
Duration: Once a week for 4 weeks
Class Size: 6 Dogs Maximum

This four week class will help prepare the dog and handler to take the AKC Fetch test. 
Pre-Requisite:  Canine Good Citizen skills or equivalent (for the Novice/Intermediate level class) and Novice or Intermediate Fetch title (for the Advanced/Retriever level class).   Dogs must not have aggression issues with people. Females in season cannot attend class and will be given a refund or credit for missed classes. All dogs must have proof of vaccinations for rabies and vaccine or titer records for DHPP.  No prong collars, choke chains, or shock collars are allowed. Classes will be held outside, in a fully-fenced 10,000 square foot grassy area. Inclement weather may cause a class to be canceled, in which case, one week will be added on to the end of the schedule. Please plan accordingly.
