Get Ready for Competition!

Class Goals:

The purpose of these classes is to help the dog and handler begin to run full courses as a team.   More advanced handling, including reverse flow pivots, serpentines, wraps, and threadles will be taught.   Coaching will focus on handler body position and cues needed for standard courses.  This class can and should be repeated as needed until dog reaches class goals. Rotating Class Outline – A Different set of exercises will be used each session. This class is held outdoors in our covered Sprint Turf arena.  Note:  This is a workshop style course, so dogs will be crated while handlers learn theory or walk the course.   Please bring your own crate if you prefer. A limited number of crates are available for use.

Pre-Class requirements
  • For dogs who already have taken the Obstacle Proficiency Agility class, the Pre-Novice class, or its equivalent.
  • This class is for the handler and dog teams who are preparing for or are currently competing in Novice or Open level competition.
  • Dogs must be confident jumpers and be able to properly and safely navigate all obstacles at competition level / full height (including the weave poles and teeter).
  • Dogs must have a Canine Good Citizen title or have passed the CGC on a head halter and must not have aggression issues with well-mannered dogs.
  • Dogs should be at least 15 months old, of a healthy weight, and witho health problems.
  • No shock collars, e-collars, prong collars or choke chains allowed in class.
  • Pre-registration with pre-payment is required.

Duration: Once a week for 6 weeks
Class Size: 6 Dogs Maximum
