Temperament Testing Services
This type of testing is for assessing temperament PRIOR to the selection or placement of a new puppy.
We do not offer temperament testing of adult dogs that are currently owned.
- Temperament Testing is a screening process and does not include training or instruction.
- Breeders often seek an independent temperament tester to give unbiased recommendations for placement.
- The test is a modified version of the Volhard temperament test, wih a few tests added to determine things like problem-solving, people-focus, food drive, and toy drive.
- Please note: we do NOT offer temperament “certifications” on dogs. A temperament test is only a snapshot of the potential of a puppy. It is impossible and unethical to guarantee the behavior of a dog.

Rate and Location:
Effective 8/27/2020: All temperament tests will be performed at the Teamworks Training Hall at 195 Robbins Rd, Youngsville, NC 27596. The rate is $50/hour for testing. An exercise-pen for the puppies will be provided but breeder should bring ground mat and is responsible for clean-up afterwards. Breeder should also bring food and treats that the puppies can eat. Breeder is responsible for payment for the temperament test of a litter of puppies.
Includes written temperament evaluation for each dog tested.
