Our High Standards

What Sets Us Above the Rest

Teamworks is staffed by dog training professionals, focused on improving your relationship with your dog.
We are not a club, franchise, or retail chain.

Our Training Philosophy is Family-Friendly

At Teawworks, we don’t believe in using “dominance” to train a dog – we believe in using your intelligence.  If you visit places like the Dolphin Research Center in the Florida Keys, you will find that they learned to use positive-reinforcement-based techniques a long time ago.  (After all, no human being could overpower a dolphin.)  Be very wary of trainers who tell you that you have to “dominate” a dog to control it.  You can have leadership without being aggressive towards your dog.  More importantly, your children and the people in your house that don’t out-weigh your dog can have leadership and respect from your dog too.  The key is that you need to learn from trainers who understand dog behavior and are educated in the science of behavior modification.  More importantly, smart trainers don’t need to resort to electricity to train a dog.  As Abraham Lincoln once said “Violence begins where knowldege ends”.

Our training program is one of the very few in the state that does NOT use punishment methods (like choke collars, shock collars and prong collars), which have been shown to not only cause physical damage, but have been shown to cause emotional damage and escalate aggressive behavior. Shock collars have been outlawed in many other countries because they are considered inhumane.  Teamworks is a proud member of the Shock-Free Coalition of Dog Trainers, as well as the Force-Free Alliance of Carolina Trainers. We are proud of our methodology, so you will see videos of daily training sessions (not just the “end product”), so you and any family member can repeat the training at home.

Teamworks Dog Training is a positive-reinforcement training facility.  We will treat your dog like a member of our own family.  Your dog will learn in a humane, positive, fun environment. Most importantly, you will see your dog’s tail wagging as they learn.

Titled Instructors / Certified Behavior Counselors

Beware! Anyone can call themselves a dog training “instructor” or a “behaviorist” without really having any training, education, or experience in the field! Our instructors and counselors have passed certification exams, have hands-on training experience, and/or have nationally recognized credentials and training titles. Teamworks requires that all instructors have experience teaching, good people skills, and have significant training credentials before they are considered for positions.

Private, Climate-Controlled Indoor Facilities in Youngsville

Your dog will be much more successful if you begin training in a quiet, indoor environment.  Outdoor environments and noisy, busy indoor environments are great for advanced training, but can be overwhelming to a new puppy or dog.  We also have non-slip floors, meant for dogs to walk and even run on.  The pandemic taught us that puppies absolutely need to be socialized and brought to new environments.  The owner of Teamworks (who has written the course outlines) enrolls all of her dogs in group classes.  There is no substitute for group classses to help dogs generlize learning

State of the Art Agility Covered Arena with Advanced Artificial Turf in Youngsville

If you are used to running agility on wet grass or dirt, and your dog has sustained injuries from slipping, you are in for a treat.  Our agility facility has a special turf with a “thatch” that holds the blades upright and holds in the rubber infill pellets.  This high-end turf is the best artificial turf available for dog sports.  We also have very powerful, yet quiet fans to cool the open-air arena on a hot day.  If you are tired of classes that get cancelled due to rain, come see us!

A Complete Dog Education Curriculum

Teamworks offers everything from Puppy Classes to Dog Sports classes like agility, rally obedience, barn hunt, scent work, and therapy dog classes.  We also offer behavior modification classes for dogs that might not be welcome elsewhere.  In addition, Teamworks offers private In-Home Behavior Consultations, Private Lessons on site and Private Lessons @Home.

We are members of the
Pet Professional Guild and the Shock-Free Coalition

REVIEWS

Teamworks is incredible! My wife and I took my dog for a leash training class. The class, instructor, and information has helped in a tremendous way. The people here really know their stuff and really want the best out of every dog. I could not say more nice things about them! Tyler L.

Suze Foote is one of the best instructors I’ve experienced! She is exceptionally knowledgable, knows how to make things fun for both pup & owner, and clearly LOVES her work as an instructor. Her passion for helping owners support & bond with dogs is admirable. I took private sessions to start and then a class, once there was an opening. My wild, sweet, smart Husky/Border Collie puppy was always treated with love & respect by Suze, regardless of her behavior. Classes were the perfect pace and loaded with technique, demos, practice time, and problem solving tips. Her “homework” emails were timely and jam packed with helpful information. Suze fully utilized every minute in both the classes and private sessions. Her warmth & welcoming presence had me look forward to every class or session, even if we were poorly prepared. I can’t wait to sign up for another one of Suze’s classes. Thank you so very much! Jessica K.

So far so good. Instruction is simple and straightforward. Dogs have a good time. Instructor listens and give advice. Megan R.

Loooove them. My 16 month pup Finney has been going to Doggie Day School for half of his life, and he’s learned so much. And he looooves going. He’s so well-socialized and well-behaved. Even though we haven’t been great trainers ourselves, he’s a well-trained dog. Worth every penny. Abby N.

I’ve taken multiple classes here and they’ve all really helped strengthen the bond I have with my dogs. I’ve also done an in-home consult that was super helpful and very worth it. I’ve learned a lot from Teamworks and my dog has gotten multiple certifications completed here as well. They were great with answering my questions and working my dog’s individual needs. Anna V.

Pleased with using Teamworks both as a boarder and a trainer. We have used both for our two year old dog. Training really seems to help her as we are able to easily repeat what we learn. We recently boarded her for a couple days and we like the larger spaces versus just a cage at other boarders. Also opted on to the daily training session. Was pleased to get daily videos showing the training. Chris S.

We boarded our lab mix puppy, Bennett, last summer at Teamworks and also enrolled him in the high-energy training program while my husband and I were on vacation. This place was amazing – it was our first time leaving Bennett, so we were initially nervous, but as soon as we did our tour, we knew he was in loving and professional hands. Prior to the trip, Bennett did have some obedience and training issues, which the staff worked on a few times a day. Additionally, they would send videos of these training sessions at the end of the day and it was great keeping up with his progress. All in all, the training was really helpful with getting his puppy behavior under control and will definitely use them for boarding needs in the future. Excellent staff, very responsive, and they all really care for these dogs. HIGHLY recommend. Kristen W.

Our puppy Carl has been going to Teamworks since we was 12 weeks old and we LOVE everyone and everything they do there. Excellent and educated staff who know what they’re doing and communicate it well to you. We get videos of Carl’s training sessions every time he goes. We take him twice a week and also enroll him in evening classes. He is a very happy little Weim puppy, well socialized and on his way to becoming a well trained adult dog. Of course the work they do at Teamworks helps pave the way for the work we do at home. They go hand in hand and Teamworks has been excellent at training us humans as well! Sophia W.

We started out going to Teamworks to train our adopted 1 year old Boxer/ Ridgeback mix in a canine good citizens class. It was a very well out together class and we walked away with a lot of valuable information on how to train our new pup. We then began using the board and train option anytime we went out of town and our pup actually enjoys going there. They treat her very well and she never gets stressed out when we leave her, or look stressed out when we pick her up. The staff is always super friendly and they are doing everything they can during Covid to make sure everyone stays safe. For boarding and training I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else at this point. Matt B.

Thank you! We take our High Energy puppy once a week for training/daycamp. We also boarded her over the weekend. She had a wonderful time! They sent pics and I can tell they took great care of her. We have also taken our older dog through all his training there, and he got great training from them! Thank you! Lisa H.

Rosie and I attended the good canine citizen class. The trainers do a great job of coaching dog owners through the basics; I’m looking forward to seeing their work in more advanced courses like agility and scent training! They use positive reinforcement, which means that they show you how to encourage good behavior and instruct your dog firmly without hitting/shouting/punishing. Classes were socially distanced and all participants wore masks at all times. When possible, several activities were done outdoors to allow us to spread out (when the sun began to go down earlier this became difficult, so it may be a good idea to choose a class held earlier in the day). Rachel H.

Christie (and Linda) are fantastic dog trainers-we couldn’t be happier with the classes. We learned how to better communicate with our dog, train him, and teach him to ignore distractions through the CGC course. After only the first or second class I felt we already got our money’s worth! Ela M.

Trainers are very helpful and make training fun and easy to follow. The positive reinforcement process that they teach is very effective and rewarding. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Mike W.

Best trainers under the wisest tutelage anywhere in the area. In the state, for that matter. Heck, maybe even in the country. Be nice to your dog. Take him to Teamworks. Molly Stone Sapir
